Chainlink launches 24/7 asset pricing as Aave adopts weekend feeds
The oracle network relies on perpetual futures to supply reference rates for tokenized assets outside standard stock exchange trading hours.

Key takeaways
- 1Chainlink launched a 24/7 pricing feed service for tokenized real-world assets on 29 October 2026.
- 2DeFi lending platform Aave is integrating the continuous feeds for institutional and stock-backed loans.
- 3Off-hours reference prices are derived from perpetual futures markets when traditional exchanges close.
- 4Co-founder Sergey Nazarov said Chainlink commands roughly 65 percent of the DeFi infrastructure market.
Chainlink launched continuous 24/7 pricing data feeds for tokenized real-world assets on 29 October 2026, selecting decentralized lending protocol Aave as its initial launch partner. Unveiled at the network's Link conference in New York, the service delivers round-the-clock price updates for tokenized equities, commodities, and other real-world assets during evenings, weekends, and public holidays when traditional exchanges are closed.
Traditional financial exchanges operate on fixed schedules, shutting down overnight and on weekends. Blockchain networks run continuously, creating potential valuation gaps when traditional assets are used as collateral onchain. Chainlink 24/7 addresses this gap by drawing price data from perpetual futures venues during off-hours to generate continuous reference rates, according to reports by CoinDesk and The Defiant.
Aave is adopting the continuous data feeds to support institutional lending backed by tokenized real-world assets, Coinpedia reported. The service is scheduled to roll out to stock-backed loans shortly, according to The Defiant. Without constant data streams, lending protocols can struggle to monitor collateral valuations during traditional market closures, leaving systems vulnerable to sudden market movements when traditional exchanges re-open on Monday.
Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said during a live conference stream on X that the oracle provider holds approximately 65 percent of the global market share in infrastructure serving decentralized finance and onchain lending protocols. Nazarov said that while putting assets onchain expands access, connecting data and applications without compromising reliability remains a central requirement for institutional adoption.
Beyond lending, the continuous pricing feeds are designed to serve prediction markets and perpetual futures venues that require 24-hour trading and settlement, according to Coinpedia. Investors will also be able to track and manage risk exposures outside standard trading hours. Coinpedia said, however, that the utility of off-hours pricing will depend on how reliably the underlying perpetual markets reflect spot asset valuations.
The timing coincides with broader efforts to bring traditional financial products onchain. On 27 October, asset manager Janus Henderson partnered with Centrifuge to launch a tokenized Nasdaq-100 fund on the Stellar blockchain for non-US professional investors, according to earlier reporting by YourKhabri. Continuous oracle updates allow protocols to handle such equity-linked instruments without pausing risk monitoring over weekends.
Following the product launch, Chainlink's LINK token rose 2.2 percent to $11.79, giving the network a market capitalisation of $9.0 billion, according to YourKhabri market data. Aave's AAVE token gained 2.0 percent to $134.50, bringing its market value to $2.1 billion. Neither project provided a precise schedule for full deployment.
